What products did 3M exhibit in recent FADJA trade show?
3M exhibited a full suite of products for the gaming and entertainment industries which included - surface capacitive touchscreens for slot machines and video betting, LED light mats for the replacement of neon signage applications:
a. Surface Capacitive Touchscreens
b. LED Lightmats are offered for new lighting design and retrofits in signage applications for the slot machine and throughout the casino floor. The LED lightmats can be customized to most any shape or size while reducing power consumption up to 50% for fluorescent and up to 70% for neon signage.
c. DI-NOC Film is used to approximate authentic materials such as wood, stone, metals, and carbon fiber to name a few. This film can be used by casino operators to update and refresh the look of their slot machines cost-effectively without taking the machine of the floor. In addition, you can wrap other construction materials for use in exterior and interior design such as doors, tables, and cabinets.
d. Electrostatically Charged Filters have been specifically designed to protect the interior workings of the slot machine from smoke, dirt, ash, and other contaminants found on the casino floor. The filter is offered with a housing that allows for retrofit over the fan boxes found on the exterior of the slot machine cabinet.

What are some of the emerging trends you see?
Customers are moving to 16:9 wide aspect ratios, full HD with 1920 x 1080 resolution, and true multi-touch capable of resolving 4 or more simultaneous touches. We showed a 22" wide aspect ratio display that was capable of 20 simultaneous touches and based on projected capacitive touchscreen technology which is the same technology found in several Apple consumer electronic devices.

How do you evaluate the presence of the company at the event? Was it a positive trade show for the company?
The tradeshow was a big success for 3M and our distribution partner Hanco Gaming. It was a great opportunity to collect the voice of the gaming market for the Latin American region and begin to feed those requirements back to the design team for our next generation products.

How important is the Latin American market for the company? Which is your strategy for this region?
Our industry leading products are a mainstay for the OEM, Casino, and Integrators in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The likelihood that you touched a 3M product on a slot or video betting machines throughout Latin America in the last 20 years is extremely high. The Latin American region is our top global priority for growth in the gaming and entertainment markets.

When did 3M begin its relation with Hanco Gaming? Which are the main characteristics of this partnership?
Our relationship began this year. Hanco Gaming is the 3M authorized distributor for the gaming and entertainment markets throughout the Latin America region. Based on their experience and line card we are very confident that Hanco Gaming will become the distributor of choice for Latin American gaming.
