SCJ informed the operational results in March

After the earthquake, winnings of the new Chilean casinos decreased a 43.61%

(Chile).- The Casino Superintendence (SCJ) informs that the 11 casinos in operation generated in March a gross gaming income (win) of us$ 11.88 million and received 178,733 visits, which spent an average of us$ 65 each.

Besides, the 11 city councils and nine regional governments must receive us$ 1.98 million in specific gaming tax and the state us$· 0.87 million of income tax. Operating societies also generated us$ 1.89 million in VAT gaming concept.

With regards to the previous month, gross gaming incomes registrated a decrease of  43.61 %, because in February 2010 the win was of us$ 21.07 million and in March of us$ 11.88 million. It explains ewhy in March, as a consequence of the earthquake, Casino de Juegos del Pacífico (San Antonio) operated 13 days, Casino de Colchagua (Santa Cruz) 29 days, while Casino Termas de Chillán (Pinto) and Casino Gran Los Ángeles just opened five days. Besides, Casino de Juego de Rinconada, Monticello Grand Casino (Mostazal), Gran Casino de Talca and Marina del Sol (Talcahuano) were closed during the whole period. Although the number of visits decreased a 56 %, -in February, the casinos received 406,500 visits and in March, 178,733-, the average expense per visit increased a 25.97%, from us$ 52 to us$ 65 in the last month.

Complying with the norm established by SCJ for games of chance of bringing prizes of no less than 85% of the amount bet in the total of combinations of possible plays, the 6,789 slots in operation delivered an average of 92.6 % of return as a jackpot for players. While the total amount bet increased to us$ 131.04 million, win in games of chance for 11 casinos was of us$ 9.75 million, which means that the prizes won by players reached the us$ 121.29 million.

Of the total of us$ 11.88 million of gross gaming income or win, Enjoy Antofagasta represented the 24.6% (us$ 2.93 million), Dreams Temuco 16,2 % (us$ 1.92 million), Dreams Punta Arenas 14.8 % (us$ 1.76 million), Casino Sol Calama 11.6 % (us$ 1,38 million), Dreams Valdivia 9.6 % (us$ 1.14 million), Antay Casino & Hotel 9.6 % (us$ 1.14 million), Casino Sol Osorno 6.7 % (us$ 0.79 million), Casino de Colchagua 4.6 % (us$ 0.54 million), Casino de Juegos del Pacífico 1.4 % (us$ 0.16 million), Casino Gran Los Ángeles 0.8 % (us$ 0.09 million) and Termas de Chillán 0.1 % (us$ 0.01 million).

With March results, the casino industry has generated in the first quarter of the year a total of us$ 59.78 million in gross gaming incomes, U$S 9.98 million in specific gaming tax,  us$ 9.54 million in VAT concept and us$ 5.12 million per income tax. Besides, casino games have received, during 2010, a total of a million 31,711 visits, which have spent an average of us$ 56.
