The presence of leading international companies such as IGT, Bally, Aristocrat, Atronic, Konami, Octavian, R.Franco (exhibiting together with Novomatic) and WMS, added to important regional firms like Mundo Video, Sielcon and Heal Technology, brought FADJA the frame that this traditional Colombian show usually offers in every edition.
Due to the ups and downs that the local industry suffered in previous months, connected to a new regulation and homologation of gaming machines, the event counted with less exhibitors and metres of exhibition than in previous years. Beyond that, participants decided to bet heavily in the production of stands, bringing the event a very professional business frame.
When asked about the balance of the first day of the event, the exhibitors acknowledged the quality of the visitors, remarking the presence not only from Colombian operators but also from Peru, Central America, Mexico and the rest of South America. Even more than one admitted having set business in this first day in FADJA.
As it usually happens, the day started with a slow entrance of public from 2 p.m., and the halls were very busy between 5 p.m. and the ending of the first day.
José Aníbal Aguirre, general director of the event, showed its satisfaction with the inaugural day, beyond the logical complaint for the reduction of the event, due to the circumstances previously mentioned with the regulation of gaming machines. “The industry took up again its day-to-day dynamics.”
When commenting about the opinion of exhibitors, Aguirre pointed that “surely, this dynamics that we are taking up again will be transformed in real business in the following months; those are businesses that the companies started to close today. They even confirmed that more than one has already set business in the first day”.
With regards to the number of visitors and their origin, Aguirre declared: “We are very satisfied because we think the event has projected itself internationally. We have received many visits from international businessmen from Central America, Ecuador and Peru, among other countries, on top of the logical number of Colombian representatives. It is what pleases us the most: the fact that it is an international event that, from now on, starts a phase of changes together with a continuous positioning beyond the frontiers of the Andean region”.
Today, from 2 p.m. on, FADJA will experiment its second day in search of ratifying its leading position in the schedule of Latin American events.
