Through that bill, all the licenses granted to the sportsbooks centers for the importation, installation and operation of slots are annulled.

Besides, the project orders Commission of Casinos of the Ministry of Finance to remove the slots installed in the commercial stores and sportsbooks centers in a deadline of no more than 60 days from the moment in which the law comes into force.

Also, it modifies the article 3 of Law 29-06 which stipulates that, every time slots were found outside casinos, the people in charge would possibly be sentenced to prison and fines. It also changes the tax paid by the casinos for each slot.

One of the motivations of the project is that the slot operation in sportsbooks centers has generated an illegal and indiscriminate proliferation in grocery stores and other establishments where underaged people assist, which has caused the massive rejection of the society.
