Winnings of Chilean casinos decreased more than 20% in February

Besides, the 15 city councils and 10 regional governments have to receive us$ 3.52 million in specific gaming tax and the state should receive us$ 1.95 million in income tax. Operating societies also generated us$ 3.36 million in VAT gaming concept.

With regards to the previous month, gross gaming incomes registered a decrease of 21.46 %, because in January 2010 there was a win of us$ 26.83 milliones and in February of us$ 21.07 million. It is explained because February has less days than the rest of the months of the year, and because besides, during the last two days, eight casinos located between the regions of Valparaíso and Bío-Bío did not operate, due to the earthquake that affected the Central-south zone of the country.

That’s why the number of visitors decreased a 8.95%, -in January, casinos received 446,478 visitors and, in February, 406,500 -, and the average expenditure per visit also decreased a 8.24 %, from us$ 56 to us$ 52 last month.

Complying with the norm established by SCJ, that establishes that games of chance machines must bring jackpots no less than 85% of the money bet in the total of the combinations of possible plays, the 6,789 games of chance machines operating handed in an average of 93.2 % of return as a jackpot for players. While the total money bet was  us$ 247.05 million, the slots win for the 15 new casinos was of us$ 16.68 million, which means that the jackpots won by players reached us$ 230.37 million.

Of the total of us$ 21.07 million of gross gaming incomes or win, Monticello Grand Casino represented the 30.5 % (us$ 6.42 million), Marina del Sol, 12,6 % (us$ 2.66 million), Enjoy Antofagasta 12.4 % (us$ 2.62 million), Dreams Temuco 8 % (us$ 1.69 million), Dreams Punta Arenas 6.9 % (us$ 1.45 million), Dreams Valdivia 5.2% (us$ 1.09 million), Casino Sol Calama 4.7 % (us$ 0.99 million), Antay Casino & Hotel 4.5 % (us$ 0.94 million), Casino de Juegos del Pacífico 3.6 % (us$ 0.76 million), Casino Sol Osorno 3.3 % (us$ 0.70 million), Gran Casino de Talca 3.2 % (us$ 0.68 million), Casino de Colchagua 2.6 % (us$ 0.54 million), Casino Gran Los Ángeles 1.1 % (us$ 0.23 million), Casino de Juego de Rinconada 1 % (us$ 0.21 million) and Termas de Chillán 0.5 % (us$ 0.10 million).

With February results, the new casino industry has generated in the first two months of the year a total of us$ 47.90 million gross gaming incomes, us$ 7.99 million in specific gaming tax, us$ 7.65 million in IVA concept and us$ 4.24 million in income tax. Besides, casinos have received on the current year a total of 852,978 visits, which have spent an average of us$ 54.
