“The tax that is established by gross incomes are divided half for the council in which the casino is located and the other half to be distributed though Regional Governments for all the councils of the region, but of which it is exempt for a while the council of Viña del Mar, and what Mrs. Reginato and Mr. Chahuán are asking is that this privilege is kept eternally, and that, in my view, goes against all the principles of equity,” pointed representative Marcelo Schilling (PS).
The norm considers that a 20% of the incomes of the gaming operators must be redistributed in equal parts: half to the council in which the casino is located and half and half to the National Fund of Public Development for the Mayoress of Ciudad Jardín, Virginia Reginato; that is guaranteed in a contract and the idea is to keep it that way.
“It is an agreement that is in the contract and we will keep on working to maintain that possibility. We are seven cities with a casinos, we are touristic cities and we will do everything we can to maintain it,” affirmed Reginato.
This initiative also includes the cities of Arica, Iquique, Coquimbo, Pucón, Puerto Varas and Puerto Natales, councils where tenders of Enjoy operator prevail.
