Ian Hughes said: “We are not here today to advocate or express whether gaming should exist in Brazil. We are a global technology company that provides testing services and advises governments on how technology can be used to ensure regulatory objectives are met. We are neutral and independent.”
GLI has been active in Latin America for years, and works with regulators in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Peru. Hughes summarized GLI’s extensive global experience working directly for and on behalf of government regulatory and statutory bodies in 13 laboratories, including two in Latin America.
He outlined GLI’s testing capabilities, including mathematics, random number generators, communication technology, hardware and software architecture and security. He also emphasized GLI’s staff experience and capabilities.
Hughes concluded his address by saying: “Technology is key to protecting the interests of government and its citizens and through which almost anything is possible. It is in the jurisdictional power to use the technical means and establish the necessary technical requirements for the gaming industry to comply, to be able to maintain, supervise and control activity.”
