Casino Canberra joins 2010 Australia New Zealand Poker Tour
Casino Canberra announced that it will be hosting a major ANZPT poker tournament over the long weekend from 11-14 June 2010 that will carry a prize pool of around us$ 457.430. The PokerStars.net ANZPT Canberra tournament is part of the very successful Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) and is expected to attract over 200 players from around the region.
This is the first time the ANZPT has come to Australia’s capital, and Peter Cursley, Director of Marketing at Casino Canberra, believes that the tournament will give a great boost to poker in the region. He also anticipates that many of the region’s poker clubs will buy seats in the ANZPT Canberra to use as prizes in their own club tournaments.
In the run-up to the event, Casino Canberra will itself run weekly tournaments each Thursday at 7.30pm from 25 February until 20 May 2010. The winners of these satellite tournaments will also have the chance to win a seat in the main event.
The buy-in for the ANZPT Canberra main event is us$2,012, while the buy-in for the satellite tournaments is us$ 109,7.
