Games of chance in cruises that arrive in Colombia will bring resources to the health sector

During the Local Councellor of State number 275, held in the Quinta de Pedro Alejandrino in Santa Marta, the president indicated that this contribution is constituted in another benefit comprised in the decrees of Social Emergency.

“I reveal this for the first time: in our health reform, some games in cruises are allowed, as long as they are docked in our cities, with the aim to allocate that money to health. And that has to produce the great effect that more cruises and more tourists come to visit us”, expressed the Head of State.

The announcement was made after remarking the growth of tourism in the Colombian Atlantic Coast, during the year. “The Deputy Minister (of Tourism) Óscar Rueda told me that, in January and February, in several Colombian cities, such as Cartagena, tourism grew a 55 %. I have faith that, this year, in this season, Caribbean cruises will arrive in Cartagena, between tourists and crew members, to half a million citizens”, he dijo.

Therefore, he affirmed that visits to national parks have also been incremented, which in the past were a shelter of terrorists.

“The Director of the National Parks, Julia Miranda, showed me this morning in the plane some important numbers of the increment of visitors to the parks. These parks, that had become a refuge for guerrilla groups, paramilitaries and drug trafficking, are now starting to become the great attraction of students, scientists, biologist, of the national and international community,” concluded Uribe.
