The GDS protocol is GSA’s USB-based serial protocol used to connect gaming devices with peripheral devices such as printers, note acceptors, and card readers. The GDS protocol combines the powerful plug-and-play capabilities of USB 2.0 with the ability to download new firmware to peripheral devices. MEI was involved in the creation of GDS and has developed and delivered GDS compliant product to the Aria casino in Las Vegas in November 2009.

“I am honored to be reelected as a board member and we are excited to continue our relationship with GSA,” said Bob Mackenzie, MEI engineering director. “MEI’s value proposition is to make our customers more profitable, which is a great fit with GSA’s goal of creating greater revenue and decreased costs. Together, we make a great team.”

Peter DeRaedt, the president of GSA, comments on Mr. Mackenzie’s re-election; “MEI has always played an instrumental role in GSA and we are happy to have Bob continuing contribution to the Board of Directors.”
