Detroit casinos report us$ 111 million in January revenue

(US).- Detroit’s three casinos reported a collective us$ 111 million in January revenue, a 4.2 % increase over the same month in 2009. The numbers were released this week by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Greektown Casino L.L.C., which is exiting bankruptcy, reported the largest month-over-month revenue gain at us$ 28 million in January, up from us$ 24.3 million a year ago. MGM Grand Casino L.L.C. reported us$ 47.4 million in January revenue compared to us$ 45.7 million a year ago.

Detroit Entertainment L.L.C.’s MotorCity Casino saw a decline in January revenue: It took in us$ 35.9 million compared to us$ 36.8 million in the same month in 2009.

The total state waging tax collected from the three casinos was us$ 10.1 million in January versus us$ 9.6 million a year ago.
