“We could not be more pleased to have both of our entertainment venues, The Music Box & the Borgata Event Center, on Pollstar’s Top Worldwide Venues lists,” said Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President for Borgata. “Over the last six years, Borgata has been host to the biggest names in entertainment from Rock n’ Roll Hall-of-Fame legends to today’s hottest acts.  We would not have been able to bring such high-caliber entertainment to Atlantic City without the help of our friends at Live Nation, who have played an integral role in positioning Borgata as one of the country’s leading entertainment destinations.”

Borgata’s 1,000-seat venue, The Music Box, home to acts in 2009 such as David Cook, The Roots, Jewel, Roger Daltrey, Tracey Morgan, Chelsea Handler and Kathy Griffin, ranked number 93 on Pollstar’s Top 100 Worldwide Club Rankings. The Borgata Event Center ranked number 71 on the Top 100 Theatres List and has been home to major headliners like Mariah Carey, Robin Williams, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, John Legend and Maxwell. The venue hosted 17 of the Top 100 Concert Tours of 2009 including No Doubt, Depeche Mode, Blink 182, Mötley Crüe, Il Divo, New Kids on the Block, Kid Rock and Journey.

Pollstar, the premier publication and news-source for the concert industry, compiles the list based on ticket sales sold worldwide as reported to the magazine for shows played between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2009.

Earlier this year, SPIN magazine recognized the No Doubt show at Borgata, which was the first show of their world tour, as one of the Best Concerts of 2009.
