IGT named new Executive Vice President of New Media

The new division will focus on bridging global trends with casino partners. Bierer comes from MTV Networks where, since 2005, he served as executive vice president of international digital media, responsible for all online and mobile businesses. Bierer's varied accomplishments at MTVN include building one of the largest international networks of entertainment Web sites, achieving market-leading positions in online and mobile video distribution, and developing award-winning multi-platform content.

"We welcome Gideon's experience in delivering content across media. With many international markets embracing new media more quickly than the U.S., Gideon's global experience at MTVN will be an asset for IGT," Hart said.

Bierer also served as MTVN's senior vice president of international strategy and business development where he focused on growth strategies including market entry, distribution and equity deals, brand launches, and product extensions.

Prior to his decade-long term with MTVN, Bierer was vice president of global and wireless at Bolt, Inc, responsible for non-U.S. mobile businesses for the online youth community. Bierer has a master's degree from Oxford University, specializing in mathematics.
