Scientific Games awarded contract in Saxony, Germany
Scientific Games will be the exclusive supplier of instant tickets for Saxony and will be consulting on marketing support, training and production matters. Saxony has a population of 4.2 million people and the tickets will be sold in 1,300 retailer shops all over Saxony.
"We are extremely pleased to partner with the Sachsische LOTTO-GmbH. The agreement with Sachsenlotto is the sixth cooperative services contract we have won in Germany and further proof of the proliferation of the partnership model internationally," said Mike Chambrello, CEO and President of Scientific Games.
"The most recent European Union Court of Justice cases have ruled in favor of state-sponsored control in order to prevent crime or addiction and we believe this clarification could give lotteries within the German Toto- and Lottoblock the ability to find new ways of operating responsibly and successfully, so that more lotteries will follow in Sachsen's footsteps."
