Thunderbird is in power of the Panamanian Gambling Control Committee

The Gambling Control Committee appointed the three executives as President, Treasurer and Secretary of Fiesta casinos. Through the Note 106-01-1743, Alberto Tiles was named as President- Director of this new board of directors. Besides, Manuel Mata was designated as new Secretary-Director and Leris Bustamante is the new Treasurer- Director.

In the document signed by Brea, it also names the wages that the members of the board will start receiving. While the director president is granted a monthly wage of us$ 8,000, the director-secretary of us$ 4,000 and the director-treasurer a monthly wage of us$ 2,000.

In the official resolution it explains that the salaries will be paid by the operator International Thunderbird Gaming (Panama) Corp. for the services that these people bring to the company “for a period to be determined by the Gambling Control Committee.”

Another justification in which JCJ based its decision to intervene in this private company was that it found transactions to a foreign company without the registration of the corresponding taxes.

In the official document, it explains that the appointment of the new board of directors is supported in the emergency order number one from October 28, 2009, through which the JCJ has the power to name the members of the board of directors of the firm.

Fiesta Casino started operating in Panama in 1998. Casinos from Fiesta chain are located in the capital, in Hotel El Panamá and Hotel Soloy. In the interior of the country, there are the Hotel Decameron, Hotel Guayacanes of Chitré and Hotel Nacional from David and the Hotel Washington in the city of Colón, and, up to date, it has not been announced until when will the board of directors remain.
