Panamanian casinos will contribute with more than us$ 98 million to the Treasury

(Panama).- Gambling venues and casinos in Panama will contribute with the Treasury with taxes of around us$ 98 million between 2010 and 2014, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF).

The MEF Gambling Control Committee indicated that on the current year, these companies have brought to the state around us$ 30 million, as a consequence of the changes in the fiscal law, boosted by the government.

Giselle Brea, director of the Gambling Control Committee, indicated that it is calculated that full casinos will contribute to the Treasury with us$ 17.88 million from January 1st, 2010 until December 31st, 2011. While in 2012, a contribution of us$ 21.46 million is expected.
 
Brea said that, with regards to gambling venues, and from January 1st, 2010, until December 2011, will contribute with us$ 16.51 million. From January 1st, 2012, until December 31, 2013, they would bring us$ 19.61 million. Besides, in 2014 they would pay us$ 22.70 million. In Panama there are 14 full casinos and 29 gambling venues.
