According to Rodrigo Guiñez, general manager of the Chilean Casino Association, that gathers the 90% of the operators of the sector, the aim is to promote the casino chains in places like Brazil, Argentina, Europe and US. “We want to release the four and five star hotels that have casinos and, this way, attract public that have not came due to an infraestructure issue,” he said.
That’s why they are in talks with Turismo Chile for a joint venture at an international level, and also offer “all inclusive” packages to visit different casinos.
Another subject that will be part of the agenda of the sector will be to ask the government to legislate games of chance activities in residencial zones. “Those machines should consider the games of chance rules and could not operate outside casinos,” he pointed.
