Besides, it will respect the competences that the autonomies hold. Specially to guarantee a proportional distribution of the taxes generated by the sector, almost 350 million euros annually in Spain, that currently fly to tax havens or to EU countries in which the activity is already regulated, such as UK or Austria.

The Spanish Internet Betting Association (EADAPI), created in 2006 to boost the regulation of the sector, is in favor of a national law “that allows Spanish and European operators to operate on equal terms”, according to Sacha Michaud, director of Betfair Iberia.

EADAPI considers "important" not to be forced to replicate its computing systems in data centers in Spain."It is very expensive and does not have any sense when an installation is useful for everyone".

The association, on the contrary, would accept the creation of an electronic repositories of the bets in Spain. Besides, it presents the regulador its ethical codes of the self-regulated advertising and the best practices of control, audit and verification of the bettor in order to avoid frauds.
