The five-member Economic Forum established by the Nevada Legislature in 1993, meets just prior to the convening of he state's biennial Legislature to provide revenue forecast for use in adopting state government budgets.
"I believe Maddox has valuable experience in finance and the gaming industry that will assist the Economic Forum as they forecast future economic conditions during these turbulent times," Gibbons said in a statement.
Nevada law allows for the Economic Forum to make preliminary projections of economic indicators and estimates of future state revenue at any time.
Present members of the Economic Forum include Michael Alastuey, William Hartman, John Restrepo, and Linda Rosenthal. The terms of all members expire at the end of January.
