The SAR government's income from direct gaming taxes amounted to us$ 4.17 billion between January and October this year, accounting for 72.2 % of the total government income, the daily said, quoting figures from the SAR's Finance Services Bureau. For the whole of last year, gaming tax income accounted for 78.1 % of the SAR government's total revenues.
The SAR government's total revenue for the first 10 months of this year reached us$ 5.8 billion, increasing by 6 % over the same period of last year, according to the figures from the Finance Services Bureau. Meanwhile, the SAR government's total expenditure amounted to us$ 2.98 billion in the period.
As a result, the overall surplus stood at us$ 2.8 billion in the period, which dropped 19.6 % over the same period of last year, according to the Bureau.
