The leaders of the project, a group of Spanish investors, who, through Arica Desarrollo e Inversiones S.A., venue of EGASA Corporation, communicated last week in El Paso Park Hotel, a us$ 80 million investors, that will start developing the idea on the second semester of 2010, in the current space of the Hotel, which already counts with a privileged view and location.
The first stage considers the commercialization of the first building dedicated to apartments and offices, addressed to the regional population and to investors from Iquique, Calama, Antofagasta, La Paz and cities in the south of Peru.
Peter Müffeler, general manager of the investment group, pointed that the project would be a complex dedicated to the increase of the tourist, commercial and real-estate sectors, in accordance with Enrique Nieto, manager in charge of EGASA Corporation, who also commented that the city of Arica is a feasible place to develop a myriad of commercial projects.
The construction of the mega project will generate around 1,200 jobs, divided in 500, for the hotel casino; 700, for the development building and commercial boulevard, as well as 250 jobs for the construction of the first stage of the project, that considers the first building for developments and offices.
People from Arica have hopes in this project, but also doubts, which may be seen in the comments of the different online media of communication in which this great news for the development of the region was published. Many of this articles say that a lot of projects have been announced in the region, but they have not been developed so far.
