Bulgarian gambling industry reported 40 % drop in revenue this year

According to the chairman of the Trade Association of the Manufacturers and Operators in the Gaming Industry - an increase by 2 % of betting tax on lotteries, lotto and sports competitions will affect the quality of service and will lead to the closure of casinos and gambling halls.

Amendments to the Gambling Act filed into parliament last week, are not consistent with representatives of the branch.

During the discussion, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) leader Ivan Kostov said that it is not normal the poorest country in the EU to have the most liberal regime in respect of gambling.

According to Kostov's largest gambling in Bulgaria should be banned, but the branch to be taxed 15 %.
