Tatts sells South African gaming interests

(South Africa).- Gaming giant Tatts Group Ltd says it has entered into a deal to sell all its interest in South African gaming operations to a local company for us$ 21.8 million.

Tatts said in a statement on Monday that the sale to Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed Grand Parade Investments Ltd was subject to conditions including South African regulatory approvals. It said the transaction was expected to be complete during the first half of calendar 2010.

Tatts said in February that it sought to buy up to four businesses in Australia. Shares in Tatts closed three cents lower at us$ 2.45.
