Gross income of the 15 new Chilean casinos fell in September

(Chile).- The 15 city councils and 10 regional governments have to receive us$ 3.48 million in specific gaming taxes, while the state will receive us$ 3.33 million for VAT to gaming activities and us$ 1.78 million in income tax.

The Casino Superintendence (SCJ) informed that the 15 casinos that are currently operating generated in September a gross gaming income of us$ 20.86 million and received 381,016 visits, which spent an average of us$ 57,65  each.

Besides, the 15 city councils and 10 regional governments have to receive us$ 3.48 million per specific gaming tax, while the state will receive us$ 3.33 million for VAT and us$ 1.78 million in income tax.

With regards to the previous month, gross gaming income registered a decrease of 2.49 %, because in August, the win was of us$ 21.40 million and in September it was of us$ 20.86 million.

It is explained because, although the number of visits increased in 0.96 % -because in August casinos received 377,381 visitors and in September 381,016-, the average expenditure per visit decreased in 3.03 %, decreasing from us$ 59,45 in August to us$ 57,65  in September.

Complying with the games of chance norm established by SCJ of bringing prizes no less than the 85% of the bet in the total of combination of possible plays, the 6,698 slots operating delivered an average of 93.4% in winnings as a jackpot for players. While the total amount bet was us$ 238.58 million, the games of chance win for the 15 new casinos was of us$ 15.81 million, which means that the jackpots won by players reached the us$ 222.77 million.

Of the total of us$ 20.86 million gross gaming income or win, Monticello Grand Casino represented the 33 % (us$ 6.89 million), Enjoy Antofagasta 12.6 % (us$ 2.62 million), Marina del Sol, a 12.3 % (us$ 2.57 million), Dreams Temuco 7.9 % (us$ 1.64 million), Dreams Punta Arenas 7.3 % (us$ 1.52 million), Dreams Valdivia 4.8 % (us$ 1 million), Gran Casino de Copiapó 4.4 % (us$ 0.92 million), Casino Sol Calama 4.4 % (us$ 0.92 million), Gran Casino de Talca 3.4 % (us$ 0.70 million), Casino Sol Osorno 2.7 % (us$ 0.56 million), Casino de Colchagua 2.3 % (us$ 0.47 million), Casino de Juegos del Pacífico 1.8 % (us$ 0.38 million), Casino Gran Los Ángeles 1.5 % (us$ 0.32 million), Casino de Juego de Rinconada 1.2 % (us$ 0.25 million) and Termas de Chillán 0.5 % (us$ 0.10 million).

With September results, the new casino gaming industry has generated this year a total of us$ 148 million in gross gaming incomes, us$ 24.70 million in specific gaming tax, us$ 23.63 million in VAT concept and us$ 13.19 million in income tax. Besides, casinos have received in 2009 a total of 2,906,120 visits, which have spent an average of us$ 55,32.
