Bill Warner has resigned from the board of directors of Shuffle Master Gaming. In a filing Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Las Vegas-based company said said Warner, who was appointed to the board in November 2008, resigned "for personal business reasons."

The filing added that Warner's resignation "was not due to any disagreement with the company's senior management or independent auditors or about any disagreement with the company's operations, policies, practices, or financial statements."

Warner is the managing member of Warner Gaming LLC, a Las Vegas gaming consulting and management company that has a contract with the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino in New Mexico. He said Tuesday that, on top of that, he and a partner are proposing to develop a casino in Massachusetts should legislators and the governor there clear the way for casinos.

Warner, formerly a longtime Station Casinos Inc. executive, said he resigned from the board of Shuffle Master to spend more time on his business and with his family. "I absolutely love the company," he said of Shuffle Master. "They have a great position in the market."
