Sega granted Alderney license as it seeks to enter online gambling market

(UK).- Japanese video game and console developer Sega is set enter the online gambling arena after having their application for a gaming license with Alderney approved.

The firm will turn its attention to high quality casino games and poker software in a bid take a slice of the us$ 10 billion a year online gambling market.

Sega Games Ltd has already entered into a partnership with Playtech, a leading casino and software specialist and launch the sega casino and poker platforms in the coming months.

After receiving the news that an Alderney gaming license had been granted, a Sega spokesperson said: “The Alderney Gambling Control Commission provides the most comprehensive gaming regulations with the strictest requirements and as such is recognizes as the most reputable online gaming jurisdiction.”

“This provides as excellent fit with Sega’s regulatory compliant strategy, and we are pleased to be approved by this leading authority,” the spokesperson added.
