Atronic is building on its success in the South African market. Following the recently signed deal to equip 877 EGMs at Sun International with CRYSTAL.net, Atronic Systems continues to hold a strong market share in South Africa at 68%. Sun International is the leading casino operator in South Africa and manages casinos in five additional African countries.

CRYSTAL.net is designed to maximise revenues, reduce maintenance downtime, and streamline casino operations by combining power, efficiency, flexibility and entertainment. It features the most efficient processing performance, longest average lifetime, and highest interface capacity of any online system in the business.

Sun International currently uses CRYSTAL WEB and will benefit from its current platform’s compatibility with CRYSTAL.net, allowing a seamless transition to the new platform. “Staying ahead in today’s highly competitive gaming arena Sun International will install CRYSTAL.net. This new player tracking interface will enhance the overall customer experience through stunning graphics, personalized messaging and a variety of bonus concepts. We are installing CRYSTAL.net in all our slot prives”, says Des Whitcher, Director Gaming Development and Slots, Sun International.

“It’s a great honour for Atronic that Sun International has decided to move to CRYSTAL.net by following the trend of providing the best services to their players. This deal signifies a continued commitment to a trusted business relationship that started in 1991,” says Thierry Aiglon, COO Atronic International. “Combined with CRYSTAL.net, Sun International’s existing chip cash cashless solution becomes even more attractive and interactive, and introduces enhanced player communication with a more personalized and compelling multi-media experience to the floor.”

The first installation is scheduled to be carried out in April 2010, starting with Carnival City, which was also the site of the first implementation of CRYSTAL WEB and chip cash for Atronic Systems and Sun International. In total, 16 casinos and 11,520 EGMs are currently equipped with Atronic’s systems solutions at Sun International operations.

The firm’s proven smart card cashless technology, chip cash, was introduced more than 10 years ago at Sun International. The casino group is now almost 100% chip cash operated and is considered the most advanced in the market. To date, Atronic has connected chip cash to more than 30,000 machines in more than 100 venues and 30 countries worldwide.
