What products did you present in SAGSE Buenos Aires?
In this show, the most important product that we brought is Mystical Temple, everything in Spanish. We are launching this product in the Argentine, Chilean and Uruguayan markets. We also brought our products with the new collection of games we have. In recent months, we lauched a great variety of titles for Quick Strike or Advantage 5.
Which has been the public feedback?
Excellent. The three-day show was very positive for us. All the operators that work with us were present, and we had the chance to close businesses. Other operators have seen the success of our products and contacted us to see what do they have to do to obtain them. Besides, I want to add that the organization of SAGSE, as well as the series of conferences Encuentro Yogonet, were very interesting. I think they have been very productive for operators and manufacturers, which is the result everyone expected from an event like this.
Which is the balance of the year for Konami?
For Konami in Latin America it was an excellent year. We received SAGSE award as the company with the biggest expansion in the latest months. We are happy for that, as well as the operators, because the performance of the products exceeds the expectations. I think it is a good situation for both manufacturers and operators.
In order to achieve these positive results, and considering the economic crisis, Did you have to carry on a special strategy?
The truth is that we had a previous strategy when we started to expand in the Latin American market. What we did was some adjustments in order to reduce the impact of any crisis. But what we saw in Latin America is that the crisis was not so big. There was a reduction in the activity of the operators, but they continue investing quite a lot. Especially compared to Europe, por example, where the market is basically parado.
What projects does the firm have for the future?
Our next show is G2E, which is the best event, where we will release new products not only for the American market but also for the International markets. We have some surprises to show to our operators. And the next Latin American event will be in Colombia. There, we will have more surprises that will attract all the operators.
