888 strikes deal with Harrah’s
The new deal will see 888’s Dragonfish unit support the launch and roll out of Harrah’s World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Caesars Casino brands for the UK market.
“It’s an amazing deal if the U.S. market opens up to online gaming one day and it’s a good deal even if it’s Europe only. We have more big American deals in the pipeline for the B2B unit,” chief executive Gigi Levy said in an interview to Reuters.
While financial details were not announced, Levy said the deal was worth “millions of dollars” and would be earnings enhancing in 2010.
The news of the deal saw shares in 888, which were down a quarter in the last 3 months, up 10.2 percent at 94 pence.
Also, as part of the new deal Dragonfish will deliver its e-payments and customer support services to the WSOP and Caesars brands to help them grow online.
