Gtech extends Oregon contract

Providence-based Gtech is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica, one of the world’s largest commercial lottery operators, and revealed that the new agreement runs until October of 2012 with the option to extend the contract for an additional year.
 
“The extension of this contract in Oregon is important to Gtech and to its video lottery affiliate Spielo as, together, we have assisted the Lottery in creating one of the top-performing government-sponsored video lottery programmes in the United States,” said Victor Duarte, President and Chief Executive Officer for Spielo, a Gtech affiliate.
 
“The Lottery’s decision to extend its video lottery contract is a strong endorsement of the company’s expertise, reliability and proven market performance for the state of Oregon and its players.”
 
Gtech revealed that the Oregon State Lottery ranks second in the United States in terms of video lottery terminal net machine income at approximately us$ 798 million. Under the extension, the firm will continue to maintain its Enterprise Se ries Video central system as well as 2,500 video site controllers linking 12,300 video lottery terminals and provide validation of winning receipts alongside the printing of retailer reports.
