“Febrabingo started six years ago and we have had a very hard fight to be able to have our legislation. It is very difficult to be able to perform an analysis on the reason why this legislation has not been approved for so long. It is important to add that the fight of the Federation is just for the legislation to be sancioned as soon as possible”, commented Canto.
Besides, commented the process in which the bill is going through is that, if approved, will release bingos, losts and video lotteries in the country. “Today, the project is in the Chamber of Representatives, where it will be voted in October, and then it will pass to the Senate, where we believe it will be voted in six or eight months,” said, and added that the task of the Federation is to try yo show society and representatives he benefits and the need to finish with illegality.
“I am not a politician, I am a businessman. I believe in legislation, I think in the power that the authorization gave us in the past,” added the President of Febrabingo, who also believes that the approval of the project in the Senate will be easier for two rehaznos: first, because of the fact that it was approved by several commissions in the Chamber of Representatives, and on the other hand, because the Senate has performed investigations by well known CPI of Bingos, which suggested the approval of gambling venues in Brazil.
“At first, I think casinos will not be included in this bill, just bingo halls and slots, but in the future, I believe Brazil will have its casinos. We live from tourism and now, gaming attracts foreign currency. Businessmen are aware of the potential Brazil would have in this sector”.
“I am very happy today, but many times I thought in giving up this fight, because it is not easy to treat with the public power. When President Lula signs this leguslation, we will be quiet an feel that the fight is over”, pointed Canto.
In Canto’s view, the model that Brazil needs to have is the one that controls in real time, because technologies of the control entities are very good. Besides, he commented that it could generate at least 4,000 employments. “We’ve never been so close of the legislation in Brazil and I think it is useful to consider it as an alternative for investments. I think nowadays Brazil is the most valued country worldwide in the gaming sector”, he concluded.
