That means that Estonian people wouldn’t have access to popular Tribet and Unibet sites, also the access would be limited to Pokerstars, which has spent a lot of money on advertising itself in Estonia this year. The Gambling Act’s amendments will come to force from January 1, 2010.

Estonian listed casino operatior Olympic Entertainment Group announced of plans of entering online casino market in the beginning of 2010. Currently it would become the first, if not the only, online-casino which is available in Estonia.

Toomas Tamre, the representative of Unibet said that he sees great danger in the amendment. “Currently it’s difficult to say what’ll come, but I can’t believe they will actually block our web site,” Tamre said and added that European laws shouldn’t allow such behaviour.
