Taiwanese maker ICP to invest in US-based PokerTek

(Taiwan).- Taiwan-based industrial PC maker ICP Electronics has agreed to invest us$ 462,000 to take a 5% stake of PokerTek, a US-based provider of automated poker tables, to strengthen existing business cooperation, according to ICP.

ICP is currently an OEM maker of Heads-Up Challenge, PokerTek's electronic heads-up poker tables used in bars and restaurants for entertainment, ICP indicated.

ICP also is developing new models of PokerPro, PokerTek's automated electronic poker tables used in casinos, and will begin OEM production as early as the end of 2009, ICP said, adding this will give it opportunities to develop the casino segment. The firm said it will further invest in PokerTek.
