Spain: Gran Scala delays the beginning of the construction until the end of the year

Promoters have now committed to present the bill to the Aragon government before the present year is concluded. Sources of ILD assure that it is very difficult to comply with the deadline planned, because the Law of High Capacity Leisure Centers has very strict requirements.

Despite the delays, nobody doubts that in Ontiñena that this project will become real. Its Mayor, Ángel Torres, assured that "the project goes on.” He insisted that they have worked during the whole month of August. Torres remarked that technicians "are writing the project and studying the content of the law” to present the appropriate documentation.

Before October 10th, ILD promoter must pay the owners a 4% of the price of the land where the leisure complex will be located, a number that corresponds to the purshase option of the soil. Ontiñena Mayor is convinced that the investors will comply with the agreement.

The numbers brought by ILD promoter, developer of Gran Scala, comply with the requirements of the Law of Leisure Centers. This complex will have more than 600 hectares, will create 65,000 employments and will count with 70 hotels. The first phase will include 10 casino-hotels, four theme parks and hundreds of stores. The norm also  establishes that the company must bring a minimum share capital of 10 million euros.
