According to the breakdown in 2008 to August this year, the Federation collected more than us$ 78,769,129 just in licenses granted to the gaming industry.
If this total amount was added to the us$ 98,142,280 that the federal government will obtain this year with the collection of the Special Tax to Production and Services (IEPS) to that industry, the number would increase to us$ 176,911,409.
Besides, with the tax increment raised to the Congress of the Union, the projection of Economy for 2010 is of us$ 190,427,561, according to the Law of Income of the Federation for the Fiscal Tax for the following year.
The information points that, on the current year, perceptions generated by trade events, draws, horseraces, greyhound races, betting centers, among others, have been of us$ 31,258,287.
From the beginning of the six-year period of President Felipe Calderón, the charge in concept of licenses to the gaming industry has been a profitable business, because collection grew in the last three years. Until 2007, the government had registered 165 remote betting centers and 142 active betting centers, and other 194 centers and 191 halls were to start their operations.
The article five of the Law of Games and Draws says that government has to set the participation that belongs to the federal government in the licenses it grants for games and draws, apart from the taxes to be determined by fiscal laws.
