New San Antonio Casino was inaugurated in Chile last week

(Chile).- Casino Superintendent Francisco Javier Leiva authorized last Friday the Juegos del Pacífico (IVISA) Casino, in Valparaíso region, to open its doors to the public for the following 15 years, it means, until August 2024.

The 14th project inaugurated of the new casino industry involves an investment of us$ 46 million, and generates 1,037 permanent direct employments, and complies with the norm set by the Casino Superintendence (SCJ) so technical and transparency standards of developed countries are applied in this new industry.

The Superintendent assured that “all the gaming material was revised and authorized by the Superintendence, and all the games of chance machines are new, with instructions in Spanish, and guarantee a percentage of the prize expected for the player, no less than 85% of the total of combinations of possible plays.”

The 20% of the gross gaming income that new casinos must pay may just be investid in development tasks.  The Superintendent indicated that “estimations point that, during this year, San Antonio council and the regional government of Valparaíso will receive -each – around U$S 167,953 in concept of specific gaming tax.” He also added that “in the new industry, the resources received cannot be allocated to expenses of the local and regional government, because they can just be invested in developments for the population”.

Of the 18 casinos that comprise the new legal industry in Chile, there are 14 operating: Antofagasta, Calama, Copiapó, San Antonio, Santa Cruz, Mostazal, Talca, Pinto (Termas de Chillán), Talcahuano, Los Ángeles, Temuco, Valdivia, Osorno and Punta Arenas. Besides, casino Rinconada is in the Verification Stage and venues in Ovalle, Castro and Coyhaique are in the development stage.
