Riu Hotel Chain plans the second casino hotel in Guanacaste

(Costa Rica).- Three months after the opening of its first hotel in Costa Rica, Spanish chain Riu is already considering the inauguration of a second complex in Guanacaste province.

The two casinos would be in Matapalo, in the same place in which the first construction is developed. The difference is that the second one will be launched under the “Palace" format.

That is Premium category, more sophisticated and with around 500 rooms. Both constructions will occupy the 5% of the property, which is 380 hectares.

The plant will have 701 rooms divided in a six-store building. It will also have a gymnasium, a casino, disco, spa and five conference halls.

So far, the company is planning ecological measures. Riu is the 16th chain worldwide and the third in Spain. Last year, it received 2.1 million tourists in their venues.
