Greece to levy 10% tax on gambling winnings

(Greece).- As of next month, Greece is to levy a 10% tax on gambling winnings, Greek Ethnos daily reports on its Internet site.

A decision by the Ministry of Economy and Finances cancels the non-taxable threshold, which has been in force up to now, despite the strong opposition of businesses.

A 10% tax is levied on all winnings, starting from 1 Euro, from lottery, gambling games and stakes.

According to the nformation released, a 20% tax is levied on all winnings larger than 1,000 Euros won by a contest participant.
