“As Secretary of Tourism, I had the task to boost the opening of the market to the casinos, but the policies at that moment aimed that casinos came to complete the tourist proposal”.

Within the 20th Meeting of the National Council of Legislative Commissions of Tourism, former federal officer said that it is incongruous to allow the installation of gaming machines, as well as the so-called betting centers, and not casinos as exist in other countries, which has generated a loss of investments.

The casino installation, she said, would benefit the regional and local councils, because they are sources of employment. “I agree, because I think it is an entertainment that provides many resources to the state.”

Among other things, regional governments would have a new tax alternative. She discarded any interference of organized crime, because, thorugh a regulation, that risk would not exist.

“I think that, well regulated, they should not have to be a risk, but I also think that, sd it recently happened, to authorize casinos in an incorrect way has caused a market loss and tourist investment.” So, the urgency to legislate on the matter, specially to count with the authorization, she insisted, is an important generator of currencies in touristic places.
