A new head of the General Games and Draws Direction appointed in Mexico

(Mexico).- María Guadalupe López Mares will be the new head of the General Games and Draws Direction of the Ministry of Interior, and will be in charge of supervising hundreds of bingo halls and combat illegal gaming in the country.

López Mares belongs to PAN political party, made her career in Guanajuato and is linked  to the political group of the governor of this entity, Juan Manuel Oliva. She is a lawyer and finished her career in Quetzalcóatl University of Irapuato. In 2000, she participated in the Commission of Justice of PAN in that entity, period in which almost 200 left and the Local Management Committee disappeared in Pénjamo.

When she was part of the state committee, it was expelled the former pre-candidate to the government of state, Eliseo Martínez Pérez, who reported the existence of corporate vote in favor of Juan Carlos Romero Hicks, ex Governor of Guanajuato.

The new federal officer replaces Roberto Correa Méndez, who officially resigned to the position, although his resignation was connected to the report made by a holding to president Felipe Calderón with regards to alleged irregularities in the operation of his position.

From 1998 to 2000, López Mares was secretary in the Supreme Court of Justice of Guanajuato; federal representative and also President of the Commission de Order of PAN. Then, she left the position to be councellor of the Institute of Access to Public Information of that entity and Director of Citizenship Participation in Irapuato.
