The new Lotto Max game will offer jackpots ranging from us$ 9.4 million to $50 million, with the additional MaxMillions game starting when the jackpot limit has been reached. Once Lotto Max reaches the us$ 45 million mark, prize money begins being allocated to a series of additional prizes worth us$ 904,077, each with their own individual draw and set of winning numbers.
"Lotto Max will give Canadians what they've been asking for - big jackpots plus more million-dollar prizes," said Jim Lightbody, Inter-provincial Lottery Corporation President and British Columbia Lottery Corporation Vice President. "Lotto Max is a one-of-a-kind lottery that is unique to Canada; the MaxMillions prizes revolutionise the lottery as Canadians currently know it."
In the Lotto Max game which replaces the current Friday draw Super 7 lottery game, players receive three chances to win per us$ 4.52 play. In order to win the jackpot, players must match seven out of seven numbers between 1 and 49, with jackpot odds of 1 in 28.6 million and overall odds of 1 in 6.6.
Tickets for the new Lotto Max game will go on sale on September 19th, with the first draw to be held Friday September 25th and every Friday thereafter.
The new game is available to all five of Canada's regional lottery organisations; Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Loto-Québec, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Western Canada Lottery Corporation, and British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
