Gran Scala Act came into force

(Spain).- The Law of Leisure Centers of High Capacity enabling installation of Gran Scala complex in Aragon, Spain, came into force after it was published last Friday, July 17th 2009, in the Official Gazette of Aragon (BOA).

This Law stipulates that such centers shall fulfill following requirements:  a minimun area of one thousand hectares, generation of more than 3,000 direct jobs, a minimum of 8,000 hotel rooms. There couldn't be built dwelling places for permanent living (except those designed for accommodation of Executive team members and employees).

One of the requirements of this law points out that this kind of centers must be tourism complex designed for entertainment, cultural and sports activities integrated with gambling and commercial offers and hotel services making toguether a unit of exploitation.

The next step is to create a Consortium between local government of those towns involved in the project. The statutes of this Consortium will also be published in BOA to be valid.
