Jamaican lottery goes mobile with Gtech

Under the GO PLAY brand, players register for access to an assigned card that monitors all transactions and is linked to a specified phone account. It gives lottery players the freedom and convenience of placing wagers for a variety of popular games such as Lotto, Pick 3, or Cash Pot through their phone from wherever they are in Jamaica.

Players call a toll free number to place their bets, add money, or check the balance on their account. Winners are notified via text message and prizes up to us$ 3,488 are automatically deposited into the players’ account. Prize amounts in excess of us$ 3,488 must be claimed in person at an SVL Regional Retail or Prize Payment Center.

Gtech has been the technology provider to SVL since its inception in 2001, although its rival Intralot owns a 10% stake in SVL following a deal agreed last October between the two parties.
