Gtech extends Wisconsin lottery contract

(US).- Gtech Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica S.p.A., announced that it has signed a two-year contract extension to continue providing online lottery technology and ongoing services to the Wisconsin Lottery.

The firm will receive us$ 25 million in revenues over the term of the deal, continuing the company's relationship with the lottery since 1989.

Under the extension terms, which commences on June 26th 2011, Gtech will continue providing the operation and maintenance of the lottery’s online/instant central system, terminals, and communications network, as well as field service, marketing support, and hotline management.

In addition to its primary data centre in Madison, Wisconsin, Gtech will provide the lottery with a back-up data centre in Austin, Texas.

"We will continue to work with the Wisconsin Lottery to bring them to the next level of growth, helping them to build a strategy for the future to ensure the Lottery continues to attract today’s player as well as the next generation of players.

"We are also prepared to support the Lottery’s growth strategy through new retail business models to further drive sales and help them to achieve the highest possible revenue for property tax relief in Wisconsin," he added.

Since its beginning in 1988, the Wisconsin Lottery has generated more than $8.35 billion in total revenue, of which at least 95% has been returned back to the people of Wisconsin.
