“In this magnificent site, we will be providing a gaming offering tailored to the tourist clientele that frequents the Mont-Tremblant region. Located on Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort’s Versant Soleil, the new casino is a quality entertainment venue for the tourist, vacation and resort clientele of the region,” said Casino de Mont-Tremblant general manager, Daniel Bissonnette.
“We are convinced that our project will be a formative one for the region and the local economy and complements the already established tourism offering in the best possible way,” he declared.
As is the case for the other Québec casinos, the Casino de Mont-Tremblant has paid particular attention to aesthetics, building quality, environmental harmony, customer service and security. The High Roller area that includes two private salons is one of the Casino’s signature features.
A complete and distinctive range of games is available, including some 400 slot machines and 25 dealer-operated gaming tables, 5 of which are reserved for Texas Hold’em Poker. Rounding out the amenities are a 125-capacity bar with light food service where events will be held on occasion and indoor and outdoor parking facilities. Current Casino staff level is 225.
To facilitate access to the new Casino, the free Casino Espress gondola lift connecting Versant Sud with Versant Soleil will be at the disposal of patrons. Finally, the Casino de Mont-Tremblant will be one of the rare ski in – ski out casinos in North America, accessible to skiers right off the slopes.
Nestled in a grandiose setting, the Casino de Mont-Tremblant uses all natural materials for its decor: water, stone, wood, leather and suede in warm, intense colours. The facility stands out by its environment, its architecture, its fittings and the significant presence of works of art. A selection of works from the Collection Loto‑Québec will be on permanent display. Local Laurentian artists created many of these works, including a magnificent glass chandelier located on the High Roller floor.
“While much attention was given to the aesthetic and functional aspects of the building, it was just as essential for us to be able to provide our clientele with a secure environment that meets the objectives of sustainable development,” said Mr. Bissonnette.
As for environmental questions, it is worth noting that the building was constructed to Canada Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. A series of technical, structural and consumer criteria as well as operational functionality make up the qualities required to receive this accreditation.
Moreover, the Casino de Mont-Tremblant applies the same control and prevention measures as the other Québec casinos, including information consoles on responsible gaming, a self-exclusion program, full staff training and an intervention service to help players in a crisis situation.
Loto-Québec has recently been awarded Level 4 certification in responsible gaming – the highest available – from the World Lottery Association (WLA), an international association of 140 lottery corporations. Loto-Québec is the only operator of games of chance to have received Level 4 certification. This certification clearly shows that Loto-Québec has the necessary resources to assure ongoing improvement to its responsible gaming help and awareness programs. Finally, the Casino General Manager added that the construction, begun in 2007, has provided some 352,000 man-hours of work for site employees, whose numbers rose to 220 during the most intensive period of construction. “Everyone – from the architects to the designers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians took care to build a first-class casino, and this is something we can all be very proud of.”
