According to the text approved by the commission, bingo halls will have to be located at a minimum distance from schools. Representative Luiz Carlos Hauly (from the party PSDB-PR) asked online games to be banned, but the proposal was rejected.

The vote was supported by representatives of different entities that are in favor of the legalization of games in the country, as well as businessmen entities and organizations of workers of the sector.

Despite the approval, the project in the commission was critisized by several representatives. “Brazil has a very big portfolio of games authorized by Caixa and bingos have already generated negative consequences for the country,” Hauly pointed.

The project will be adressed to the Commission of Constitution and Justice of the Chamber. After that, it will be sent to the Senate.
