Mexico: 2nd Ibero-American meeting of gaming operators to be held next month

The most important novelty of the 2009 meeting is that it will be organised jointly by the Mexican Association of Gaming Licensees (APJSAC), Casinos de Latinoamérica and ELA. The chair and keynote address have been offered to the Mexican Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Gómez-Mont Urueta, pending confirmation. Gaming in Mexico is dependant on the Department of Home Affairs. Other government guests will include high-ranking civil servants, members of congress and senators.

With regard to the private sector, VIP invitations have been sent to all Mexican licensees and major gaming operators from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belice, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Spain and Portugal. Also expected to attend are several expert Mexican gaming lawyers, who will analyse the legal situation of gaming in the country.

The key topic of the 2nd Ibero-American Meeting of Gaming Operators will be “The development of legal gaming in Ibero-America and its influence in dismantling underground gaming, with special regard to the case of Mexico”.

Speakers and attendants will be welcome to share their experiences on this and other topics.

At the end of the Meeting, guests are cordially invited to a cocktail reception, offered by the APJSAC, followed by the traditional cutting of the ribbon to inaugurate ELA-2009.
