Betfair to sponsor Australian Strathalbyn Racing Club
Strathalbyn Racing Club is located near Adelaide in South Australia and is regarded as one of the southern state’s leading horseracing venues. The deal takes effect immediately and marks the first time the London-based betting exchange operator has agreed a sponsorship arrangement with a regional Australian racecourse.
“We’re delighted that Betfair has shown its support for South Australian racing by investing in the future of Strathalbyn,” said Sharon Cimarosti, Secretary for Strathalbyn Racing Club.
“It's our first foray into sponsorship in South Australia and it represents another major milestone in the ongoing growth of our business,” said Andrew Twaits, Chief Executive Officer for Betfair.
“We’ve always maintained that we’d like to put money back into racing through sponsorship and Strathalbyn provides us with a further opportunity to strengthen our brand in South Australia and across the country.”
