Sources from the organization of the event commented that, in spite of the international preoccupation provoked by the outbreak of the H1N1 virus in Mexico, normality is returning little by little.
“The Mexican Health Authorities believe that everything will be back to normal by mid June. At the moment, official and private centres have returned to their normal schedules. ELA 2009 is still the hot topic in the Mexican and international gaming sectors. All stands were sold out by late January,” they added.
“Since then, we have had to extend the exhibition area on several occasions, to make room for all those who were in danger of being excluded due to lack of space. Today we are extending it once more,” commented the sources.
Besides, the “2nd Ibero-American Meeting of Gaming Operators” will be held on 23 July at Centro Banamex. The first edition, held last year in Monterrey, was a great success.
“This year we hope to have the presence of top executives from the Mexican Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB) and representatives from the Mexican Association of Gaming Licensees (APJSAC) along with operators and manufacturers from the world over, with special emphasis on the Latin American sector,” added the press release, which concluded by saying: “Everything points to ELA 2009 being even a greater success than last year’s edition, held in Monterrey. We sincerely hope that the exhibition will be the scene of exciting deals between buyers and sellers, leading to enduring business relationships.”
