The information was brought by a study demanded by National Lottery to consulting firm “Fulvio Rodríguez y Asociados”. The company recommends the National Lottery to force their owners to legalize their operations with the aim to avoid tax evasion and keep control on those betting centers.

The National Lottery has been demanding the owners of lottery centers the payment of debts that, it says, have several years of delay.  Hatuey Sánchez Galarza, subgerente of online gaming of the lottery, said yesterday that the tax evasion from the owners of the main lottery centers is more than us$ 451,377,732 and the debt with this entity is for more than us$ 8,463,332.

He said that the 35,000 legal lotteries dodged the tax payment every year for more than us$ 451,377,732, and that the debts with the National Lottery exceeds us$ 8,463,332. He also added that Internacional Dominican Online Lottery (Leidsa) is updated with the payment of taxes to the state.

The information is in a document that a consulting firm prepared, and it adds that in the country there are more lottery centers that are not registered, than the ones that operate legally, and also points that a 85% of them belong to big consortiums that operate in the sector.
